Bettendorf High School Student Council is a class, service and leadership organization all in one. Students are elected and interviewed each spring to earn a spot on council after submitting an application and giving a speech to their class. Students serve a one-year term. During the first quarter of the year, council members attend a 9-week block class every day for which they earn .5 elective credit. During the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters, students attend a 30-40 minute morning meeting one morning a week and committee meetings as needed. Students earn a .125 credit each of the last three terms of the course. Student council involves planning, preparing and servicing the following events...
