Bettendorf High School student council students organized a shoe and apparel drive last spring for the Mission Starfish School in Haiti. Mission Starfish was started by native of Haiti, Silentor Esther-Henderson, who moved to Bettendorf during his teen years and graduated from BHS. The drive collected over 100 pairs of shoes of different styles and sizes from BHS and Grant Wood students. The shoes were distributed to the Mission Starfish students in Haiti and will specifically be used to start their basketball program. In addition, over 70 jerseys were collected from Bettendorf Middle School. Thank you to all students and groups who donated.
