Do you like playing capture the flag? Do you want to participate in the Hunger Drive? Capture the Cans is on Wednesday, October 11th from 6:30-8:00pm. Teams of students will compete to steal as many cans for their team as possible in a capture the flag/Hunger Games style event. The event will take place in and around the football stadium. Sign-ups are in the activities office and DUE TODAY, October 6th. Come out and support the Hunger Drive!

Students looking for volunteer service hours: Armstrong Elementary is having their Fall Festival today (10/6) and need help with activities for students Friday night from 5:00-8:00 pm. The games and activities run on 30 minutes shifts and set up/take down an hour or so. If interested, sign up with Mrs. Henson in Student Services.

On Friday the 13th during PRIDE Bettendorf Grad, Matthew Speak, will be talking about his new suspenseful and spooky book series "Bettendorf Tales". Devil's Glen, the first in the series, is available for check out in the library.

If you are interested in volunteering with Bett FCCLA and Iowa Masonic come to Ms. Kieffer's Pride time today, Oct. 6. The program is called Music and Memory and we will have a guest speaker this Friday to give us more information on how we can help! Sign up for Ms. Kieffer's pride Friday if interested!

John Deere is offering a Law and Legal Services Career Exploring program for high school students at their world headquarters in Moline. This is an exciting program that covers a wide variety of legal topics including criminal, civil, or environmental law and will meet one evening a month. The open house and informational session will be held at Deere World Headquarters on October 19th from 7 – 8:30 PM. The schedule for the rest of the school year will be determined at that meeting based on student input. If interested, email or stop and see Mrs. Cole in Student Services today!!

German Club Members: Don't forget to let Frau Steiner know if you will attend the field trip next Tuesday to the German-American Heritage Center and if you need a ride or not. Bring your $3 for admission by the end of today (10/6).

Students traveling to Germany next summer with GAPP: Please read your school G-Mail and fill out your information form ASAP if you haven't already done so. Remember that your trip deposit is due by October 13th. Questions? See Frau Steiner in D270.

French Club meets today (10/6) after school in Room D268, Ms. Conrad's room. Please bring your fundraising forms to turn in!

Spanish Club will meet after school to plan future events in Mr. Hopkins room (D265).

Photography Club will be meeting in Ms. Arters room G001 from 3:30-4 pm today (10/6). If you have any interest in photography and would like to learn more please come join us.

Students in grades 6 through 12 who are interested in this year's National History Day program should come to the Bettendorf Middle School Library after school next Thursday, October 12. At that time this year's NHD theme and club meeting dates will be explained. Contact Deb Temperly at BMS if you have any questions.
