Come to Buffalo Wild Wings on today, October 4th to help raise money for the Hunger Drive. The fundraiser will last all day. Make sure to bring in a flyer and tell your server you are there for BHS. 10% of the proceeds that day will go to the Student Hunger Drive. Come eat some wings and help to end Quad Cities hunger.
Do you like playing capture the flag? Do you want to participate in the Hunger Drive? Capture the Cans is on Wednesday, October 11th from 6:30-8:00 pm. Teams of students will compete to steal as many cans for their team as possible in a capture the flag/Hunger Games style event. The event will take place in and around the football stadium. Sign-ups are in the activities office and DUE on Friday, October 6th. Come out and support the Hunger Drive!
Attention all students. By the end of the first quarter all students should have completed the development of the Career and Academic Portfolio. After completion of the portfolio all students were to engage in activities in relation to self-understanding as it relates to their grade level. Your reflection needs to be added to your portfolio. Due to technical difficulties many students were not able to complete this work. Mrs. Cleppe will be holding PRIDE sessions to help student complete this work prior to the end of the quarter over the next two weeks. Seniors will do this work Monday in Advisory. Please sign up via ICAP Support on Flexisched starting next week.
Students looking for volunteer service hours: Armstrong Elementary is having their Fall Festival this Friday (10/6) and need help with set up Thursday night as well as help working the games and activities for students Friday night from 5:00--8:00 pm. The games and activities run on 30 minutes shifts and set up/take down an hour or so. If interested, sign up with Mrs. Henson in Student Services.
Sign ups began for Juniors only for the PSAT, which will be given Wednesday, October 11th. Sign up begins today, September 27th for Sophomores for the PSAT. The last day to sign up is Tuesday, October 3rd. The cost is $16, payable by CHECK ONLY, made out to BHS. See Mrs. Henson in Student Services for sign-up, payment, and an instruction/practice booklet.

On Friday the 13th during PRIDE Bettendorf Grad, Matthew Speak, will be talking about his new suspenseful and spooky book series "Bettendorf Tales". Devil's Glen, the first in the series, is available for check out in the library.

John Deere is offering a Law and Legal Services Career Exploring program for high school students at their world headquarters in Moline. This is an exciting program that covers a wide variety of legal topics including criminal, civil, or environmental law and will meet one evening a month. The open house and informational session will be held at Deere World Headquarters on October 19th from 7 – 8:30 pm. Come and join the UBett Robotics team on Thursday October 12th for a night of trivia in the BHS Commons. The cost is $10 per player and there are 8 people per table. Get your team of 8 together and stop by. Doors open at 6:30 pm and trivia starts at 7. Bring your own snacks! All proceeds go to the UBett Robotics team.
