The National Youth Science Camp is seeking two Iowa high school seniors to attend the National Youth Science Camp this summer in the mountains of West Virginia and visit Washington, D.C. to exchange ideas with scientists and other professionals from academic, governmental and corporate worlds. This camp includes lectures, overnight outdoor trips into the Monongahela National Forecast, and a trip to Washington, D.C. The students meet scientists and students from across the nation and experience hands-on research projects as part of this life-changing program. The Speech and Debate Team will be meeting after school today (2/12) in Room D105. We will be discussing team tee-shirt orders, our re-scheduled District tournament, our District Congress tournament, and our upcoming State tournament. All members should attend. Thank you.

Congratulations to the Bulldog wrestlers for finishing the season 8-1 in conference duals and sending 8 wrestlers to the state tournament in Des Moines this week.

Congratulations to the boys swim team for their 3rd place finish at the state meet Saturday. Caleb Aman won his 4th and 5th state titles by winning the 200 Individual Medley and the 200 Free Relay. Joining him on the school record and All American relay were Charlie Bunn, Luke Nickles, and Andrew Ottavianelli. The boys would like to thank the entire school for their support this season.

Science Club will meet tomorrow (2/13) to discuss Field Trip Ideas and Science Olympiad.

Scholastic Bowl meets tomorrow ( 2/13) after school in Ms. Conrad's room, D268.

French Club meets tomorrow (2/13) after school in Ms. Conrad's room for Mardi Gras.

Environmental Club will meet after school today (2/12) in room C300.

There is a France Trip Meeting tomorrow (2/13) at 4:40 pm in Ms. Conrad's room.

Forms are available in activities for state wrestling shirts. Orders must be in by NOON on Monday (2/12). Short sleeved shirts are $10 and long sleeve $15. Checks payable to Bettendorf High School.

Student council election packets are now out! If you are interested in being part of a group that runs the hunger drive, homecoming, and various other school based activities, pick up an election packet at the activities office today. Packets are due on February 15th (2/15).

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of blacks in U.S. history. In honor of this year’s Black History month, every day during the month of February we will read a daily inspirational quote from some of the most influential black personalities of all time.
