Are you interested in CHOIR for the 2019-2020 school year? BHS has four different choir classes and if you are currently a freshman-junior you can audition to be in Women's Chorale or Concert Choir (regardless of whether you have been in choir before). All students if you’ve ever wanted to learn about filmmaking… now’s your chance! Fresh Films is a youth film program located on the campus of Augustana College. This Spring, students are invited to apply to be part of their film crew and help create a video & PSA for a local non-profit organization. You'll learn all about cameras, audio, and lighting while creating an uplifting story about a Quad City organization that positively impacts the community. Students interested in healthcare careers, Scott Community College is hosting informational sessions on programs such as nursing, surgical and radiologic technology, sonography, dental assisting, CNA, EMT, and several other health related programs at their college. This will take place at the Belmont Campus on Thursday, February 7th from 5:30-7:30 pm in the Student Life Center. For additional information, stop in Student Services.

Gilda’s Club is having an essay contest for 11th and 12th grade students who have been affected by having cancer or having a loved one with cancer. They are offering two, $1,000 awards to be granted to students who demonstrate an authentic ability to move readers by sharing their experience with cancer. Essays are due February 1st: go to

Need a prom dress but don't want to spend a dime? Prom Dress Giveaway hosted by Maddie's Closet is tonight(1/28). You can shop and choose a dress for free from 4-7 pm at the Community Room of the Davenport Police Department located on 416 N. Harrison Street in Davenport.

Think you have the skills it takes to give someone stitches? If you're planning on a career in the medical field and want to try your skills when it comes to suturing and knot tying you need to sign up for the Doc Is In PRIDE Session on Thursday(1/31). Spots are limited so sign up soon!

For the first time ever, Bettendorf students will have the chance to face off against Pleasant Valley students in a sand volleyball tournament to determine the winner of the first ever Bett Valley Rally. The Bett Valley Rally will take place on Saturday, February 9th from 6-8 p.m. at the BettPlex. It is $10 per person and you can create a team of up to 7 people.
