Congratulations to the Bettendorf High School students who recently earned the State of Iowa’s Seal of Biliteracy. The State of Iowa's Seal of Biliteracy is a recognition offered to high school students who can demonstrate proficiency in English and a foreign language. The Seal is placed on the transcripts graduating students who meet Iowa's guidelines for it. The award celebrates proficiency - not seat time in a class.
The State of Iowa Seal of Biliteracy is offered to all high school students within the Bettendorf School District who can demonstrate proficiency in English and a world language of the student's choosing. The world language does not have to be offered in the Bettendorf School District. It can be a language that a student speaks with family or perhaps a language that a student learned abroad. In order to receive the Seal of Biliteracy, students accomplish two tasks: one in English and one in the world language of choice.
