Do you love ping pong and want to support a good cause? Sign up in the activities office in teams of two and enjoy some friendly ping pong competition at the second annual Tyler’s Tournament. The tournament will be taking place TODAY from 1:45-3:00 in the gym and the cost is 5 dollars a person to sign up. All proceeds go to the Tyler Hurd Best Friend scholarship fund. Donations are welcome and checks can be made out to BHS Student Council.

Seniors- All library materials are due Friday, May 13. If you need to have something checked out after that date please see Mrs. Heeringa in the library.

Students considering a career as a veterinary assistant- contact Mrs. Hoyt to sign up to take a trip to Muscatine Community College and learn more about their program! The trip will be on May 20th.

If you are interested in learning about agriculture careers, Mrs. Hoyt has the field trip for you! Email her to sign up for a Career Exploration trip on May 20th!

Have you ever wanted to dunk a science teacher? Some of your science teachers have volunteered to be dunked for a good cause! Donate to Mr. Mesick, Mr. Grannen, Mr. Koepnick, Mrs. Hansen, Mrs. Tisue, or Mrs. Bohnert in the main office or in their classrooms. The winner will be dunked at the Dance Marathon event Friday 5/20 at 7PM. Dance Marathon will start at 6PM. Admission to the event is $5, all proceeds go to the Children's Miracle Network, which helps children receiving cancer treatment.

Don't forget, today is the last day to apply for SELL Crew next year. SELL Crew are the leaders that will welcome freshmen and new students to BHS next year! Be a part of this exciting opportunity by applying at the following link: SELL Crew application

Seniors! It is time to head back home to your elementary schools! Each year, BHS seniors are invited to visit their elementary school to show younger Bettendorf students what their future holds. You must sign up at this link to attend your Graduation Walk! We will have caps and gowns for you to borrow for the event. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Hoyt.

Graduation Speeches: Seniors interested in giving a speech at graduation, need to complete the following to be considered:

  • Pick one of two topics: past or future. You can only submit one speech.
  • Complete the Class Speaker Google form and if you are selecting a speech reflecting on the past or the future by Monday, May 16 at 11:59 PM.
  • Note: Any member of the senior class is eligible to submit their name.
  • Those that sign up will read their speeches as an audition with administrators the week of May 16th. The selection committee will select one speaker for each topic.

Seniors- still not sure what your post-graduation plans are? SCC's new hybrid EMT Program may be the answer to your question. Employment is projected to grow 11 percent from 2020 to 2030 for EMTs, faster than the average for all occupations.The median annual wage for EMTs was $36,930 in May 2021. The BHS Student Council is hosting the annual Variety Show this Friday at 7pm. Admission will be 5$, and the event will be held in the PAC. Come support some amazing performers!

French Club meets Friday after school in Ms. Piasecki's room, D268. All are welcome!

Seniors- May has come, which means it's Decision Time! You've put in all the work to apply to schools or jobs, get an apprenticeship, or enlist in the military and now we want to celebrate you! Stop by E Locker bay before school, during passing, or at lunch on this Friday, May 13th to take a picture in our Future Ready Photo Booth to celebrate your plans!
