Four Bettendorf High School students earned honors for high achievement on the National French Contest / Le Grand Concours.

In the state of Iowa,

Level 2 - Corbin O'Grady placed 8th.

Level 5 - Samuel Barnes placed 8th and Cole Snyder placed 6th.

Level 5C* - Parker King placed 6th.

*Level C indicates that the student is a native speaker of the French language and was therefore in a tougher grading category.Numerous other students placed in the top 20 for Iowa at various levels. Congratulations to all participants!

Attention all VARSITY Football Players for next year, it is time to get fit for your equipment for the fall 2022 football season. If you are going to be a Varsity Football player next year you need to get fit by May 6th when tagging of equipment begins. Please stop by Mr. Knudson's Classroom, room B206, in the morning before school between 7:45-8:10 AM or sign up for Mr. Knudson's PRIDE to get measured and fit for equipment for the 2022 football season. If you have any questions see Mr. Knudson or Coach Wiley.

The Class of 2025 is partnering with JDRF in supporting the diabetic community at BCSD. Hi Best Buddies! Thanks to those who came to our April event! If you painted a pot, please make sure to drop by Ms. Meyer's room before school or between blocks to grab it! Also, we will be holding our last chapter meeting THIS Friday (May 6th) in Ms. Meyer's room @ 8. Please make sure to be there for some last announcements!

The Art Department would like to thank all the talented students who had their art on display at the Quad City Arts - High School Invitational show. That show has now ended and we have the work back here at school. Please see your art teacher to pick it up.

French Club meets this Friday after school in Ms. Piasecki's room, D268

Congratulations to the 4th Bulldog golf team win the Burlington invite yesterday. Victoria Batey took 10th, Sarah Giese 7th & Shannyn Vogler was medalist.

Do you love ping pong and want to support a good cause? Sign up in the activities office in teams of two and enjoy some friendly ping pong competition at the second annual Tyler’s Tournament. The tournament will be taking place on Wednesday, May 11th from 1:45-3:00 in the gym and the cost is 5 dollars a person to sign up. All proceeds go to the Tyler Hurd Best Friend scholarship fund. Donations are welcome and checks can be made out to BHS Student Council.

GSA will meet on Monday, May 9 in the library at 3:30pm. We will discuss elections for next year, PRIDE month activities, and the 8th grade visit. See you then!

Seniors- All library materials are due Friday, May 13. If you need to have something checked out after that date please see Mrs. Heeringa in the library.
