Nine BHS students qualified for the June 16-21 National Speech and Debate Association's National Tournament in Des Moines, IA. 

  • Lauren Ballard – Original Oratory and Original Spoken Word Poetry

  • Kimbree Callahan – Duo Interpretation

  • Cata Fernandez – Original Oratory

  • Matthew Gardner – World Schools Debate

  • Heath Leone – Duo Interpretation and Storytelling

  • Cameron Ritchie – Informative Speaking

  • Max Rockwell – Humorous Interpretation and Storytelling

  • Charlie Silver – Student Congress – Senate and Impromptu

  • MaKaylee Wilson – Program Oral Interpretation and Prose

Heath Leone - Storytelling - Heath started off in a pool of 420 entries in Storytelling.  He finished in 20th Place overall or top 5% of the field.  

Charlie Silver - Impromptu - Charlie started off in a pool of 578 entries in Impromptu.  He finished in 40th Place overall or top 7% of the field.
